Navigant’s Valuation & Financial Risk Management (“VFRM”) Practice has extensive experience advising clients on critical valuation, transaction advisory, due diligence and risk management issues. This experience cuts across all major industries and business functions.

Our practice provides value-added business advisory services to help top tier clients solve complex strategic, financial, and operational challenges. VFRM clients are banks, investment banks, insurance companies and consumer finance companies that extend mortgage, home equity, credit card, automobile, educational, and other types of financing to consumers. Our portfolio of business advisory services is focused on the implementation of solutions based on industry best practices. Key services include: credit risk management; market risk management; model risk management and governance; capital adequacy and stress testing (Basel III & Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review); Dodd-Frank Title 7 implementation support; and general financial / risk system selection and implementation assistance. Navigant’s VFRM practice also performs business profitability measurement and improvement, business strategy review and implementation, financial and operational risk and controls reviews, industry benchmarking, enterprise risk management, and regulatory and legal compliance reviews.

  • This role can be done from any remote location.

  • Develop new revenue opportunities for Navigant Consulting Inc.'s Transaction Advisory Services Practice. The primary target market for this activity is C-level executives within the Financial Services, Energy, Healthcare and Life Sciences and Manufacturing, Retail and Distribution industries

  • Follow-up on announced M&A transactions to position our valuation and financial advisory service offerings

  • Develop a proactive PE and Alternative Investment Fund calling program to set up initial meetings for TAS Leadership team

  • Build relationships and engage in activity designed to generate qualified leads, which will then be closed by NCI practitioners

  • Support our national business development outreach initiatives, which will require the individual to initiate and organize meetings and phone calls with prospective clients, prepare letters and email, and participate in preparation of sales collateral

  • Supervise and direct project work in a variety of engagements across a variety of industries on time and on budget

  • Manage client interaction and expectations

  • Supervise, train and mentor VFRM staff

  • Ensure client concerns and issues have been appropriately identified and addressed

  • Identify, pursue, and assist with sales opportunities

  • Able to adjust project scope quickly as priorities change

  • Provide a model of cooperation, positive attitude and team leadership

  • Create a team environment that stimulates new ideas and challenges existing thinking

Required Technical Skills:

  • Responsible for quality control of discounted cash flow models and other analyses in Excel

  • Prepare and quality control client deliverables, consisting of valuation models, reports, proposals and presentations

  • Assist with project administration

  • Identify and evaluate risk management issues within project work

  • Assist with proper engagement documentation

  • Develop new approaches and methodologies, as necessary, during regular course of managing projects

Other Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience with business valuation or corporate finance engagements in a consulting environment

  • Undergraduate degree required, emphasis in Economics, Finance or Accounting preferred

  • Superior oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to understand and teach key business processes across all industries

  • Above average analytic and research skills

  • Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively

  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

  • Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously

  • Self-motivator with ability to work independently

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate work activities of others

  • Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location
