JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Talent Management Consultant.

The Talent Management Consultant leads Abbott’s Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) new graduation rotational programming in both the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) and Atrial Fibrillation (AF) business, and in the Neuro business (Chronic Pain and Movement Disorder portfolios), providing thought leadership and strategic direction on the program, working with the Human Resources team and senior leadership to ensure an integrated approach to all talent strategies. The Consultant manages the full-cycle recruitment process by selecting schools based on relevant data and company fit, organizing nationwide candidate sourcing, reviewing resumes, conducting candidate interviews, and dispersing offers. Upon completion of the recruitment process, the consultant organizes and communicates next steps to candidates including location selection, mentor selection and the onboarding process (benefits, relocation, other). Additionally, the Consultant provides ongoing management and direction of the training and development process of all employees in both the TSS, CRM/AF and TSS, Neuro programs (over 100+ participants at various stages of the program at any given time).

Consultant oversees and monitors TSS, CRM/AF program participants for up to three years or until all necessary certifications are acquired, and oversees and monitors TSS, Neuro program participants for up to two years or until all necessary certifications are acquired.

Impact this role will have on Abbott:

  • Represents Abbott across TSS, CRM/AF and TSS, Neuro activities, with internal stakeholders (e.g. Sales Managers, HR partners) and external partners (e.g. University contacts, including but not limited to Professors, Academic Advisors, students)

  • Creates up-to-date recruitment presentations, advertisements and online job descriptions in order to maintain comprehensive applicant sourcing techniques and recruiting solutions.

  • Sources candidates through online social networking and job boards, community involvement, and professional networking, as well as employee referrals other sources as needed.

  • Assesses potential candidates, including skills, education, and experience, competency and company culture alignment.

  • Fills available positions in a cost-effective, timely manner and in compliance with EEO Regulations and Affirmative Action goals and objectives.

  • Further evaluates candidates after on-site interviews through the field shadowing process.

  • Collaborates with Human Resources team members to develop and extend job offers.

  • Builds strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, HR generalists and other key stakeholders and ensures a high level of customer service.

  • Reviews weekly reports of newly-hired rotational program employees throughout the training process, holding them accountable for receiving all certifications in a timely manner.

  • Provides individualized coaching of employees in both rotational programs to encourage high performance in the field.

  • Works with the hiring manager to make adjustments to the training process as necessary.

  • Coordinates and attends didactic training sessions (Cardiology 101 and Neuro 101) organized by the Education Department in order to facilitate a smooth transition post-hiring.

  • Ensures employee prepares for and receives all relevant certifications required for program completion

  • For CRM/AF, relevant CRM Certifications, AF/Navx Certifications, Array Certification, Pacing IBHRE, EP IBHRE and/or other certifications as determined by the organization

  • For Neuro, internal Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Chronic Pain Therapy (CPT) Certifications and/or other certifications as determined by the organization

  • Attends regular meetings with the HR team and senior leadership in order to stay current on corporate strategies.

  • Keeps hiring managers and HR generalists informed throughout the recruitment process.

  • Maintains integrity of all staffing process records with a documented applicant tracking system.

  • Strives for continuous improvement on key employment metrics such as time-to-fill, quality of hire and retention statistics.

  • Attends recruitment events as needed.

  • Drives best practices and integrates them into current processes – while also knowing what other best in class companies are doing for recruitment for similar programs.

  • Completes other recruitment projects as requested.

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

  • Supports business leaders with global responsibility (i.e., leaders with employees residing in countries around the world), access and utilize HR information systems and data to run reports and validate, analyze, and utilize global employee data.

  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Your experience(s), education and knowledge will further expand Abbott’s marketplace success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required.

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience within the medical device industry in the Field, having direct experience with device implants, building and maintaining customer relationships

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with the Internet and Excel.

  • Capable of handling multiple tasks, problem resolution, and prioritization, and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and networks.

  • Ability to follow-up, communicate effectively and work with all levels within an organization.

  • Ability to handle and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

  • High degree of initiative, drive, and the desire to grow

  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

  • Travel required (up to 35% annual); seasonal (up to 75% during the Fall recruiting cycle)
