General Description

The Packaging Center Quality Manager will be responsible for overall development and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System. (QMS)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the organizations Quality Management System conform to customer requirements. (I.E., Routing Guidelines, Label Requirements, Product Acceptability Guidelines, etc.)

  • Work closely with HQ dispatchers in order to set up new model quality inspections and supporting factory outgoing inspection team with identifying and reporting defects.

  • Generating formal defect reports for upper management of the results and issues found during inspection.

  • Oversee inspection requirements of incoming, in-line and outgoing to ensure they meet requirements.

  • Reports directly to Packaging Leader. Works in conjunction with Procurement, Production, and any other department that has an effect on the quality of the organization’s products.

  • Lead a team of Quality Engineers, supervisors and auditors.

  • Work with Cell Phone Carriers to develop and define requirements.

  • Responsible for overall review and development of improvement initiatives. (bi-annual initiatives)

  • Conduct periodic management review with staff.

Background/Experience required:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 6 years in experience in telecommunications.

  • Experience with MS Office including Excel, Word and Access

  • Understanding and experience with ISO 9000 requirements

  • Familiar in working with SAP and MRP systems.

  • US citizen or permanent resident

Necessary Skills / Attributes

  • Minimum with 8+ years of experience in Cellular Phones or similar handsets

  • The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with multiples levels within the company and with external contacts including customers, authorized service center representatives, & planning.

  • The ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs and tables of information and to plan and prioritize multiple work assignments.

  • The ability to read, writes, provide critical technical review and prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures and technical product information.

  • Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of production team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames.

  • The demonstrated ability to solve problems involving highly diverse conditions requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned things.

  • Ability to facilitate collaboration with diverse groups/stakeholders

  • Team oriented, but able to work independently and manage multiple tasks

  • Self-directed, self-motivated and results-oriented

  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
