Position summary

The Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of our C# software solutions that support both enterprise solutions and front-end business web applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production life cycle. The candidate will work on new features as well as assist the support of existing products.

Duties & accountabilities

Required

  • 5+ Years of hands on Object Oriented experience with C# and .Net Framework.

  • Knowledgeable and advocates the use of Design Patterns and SOLID principles.

  • Experienced with Unit Testing, Integration Tests, Spec Flow, Mocks, etc.

  • Capable of leading through example and training. Being an individual contributor while also setting the bar and bringing other engineers along.

  • Flexible enough to maintain legacy software.

  • Participate in establishing processes and best practices around development standards, version control, quality control, deployment, maintenance and change management.

  • Strong problem solving skills. Must be able to invent creative solutions for complex problems.

  • TSQL, Database Design/Programming, XLST, RESTful Web API’s, IoC, TDD, Git.

  • Capable of collaborating and socializing technology in an effective way.

Helpful

  • DevOps understanding and hands on engagement of such culture change.

  • Experience with functional programming languages such as R or F#.

  • Expression Trees (C#)

  • Team City, Git, Containers, Infrastructure as Code, development targeting cloud

  • WPF

Business competencies

Education and experience

  • 5+ years’ experience developing .Net solutions

  • Background working in a Microsoft development environment with experience in C#

  • Solid understanding of SOA and/or REST

  • Technology-neutral programming concepts

  • Exposure to Software Design Patterns/Principles including object-oriented analysis, design and implementation, including MVVM and MVC

  • Experience writing integration, acceptance and unit tests with exposure to Test-Driven Development

  • Computer science, software engineering, information system degree preferred or substantially equivalent experience

Commercial awareness

Business Experience:

  • Banking or investment industry experience preferred.

Management requirements

Technical:

  • This role is not a management level role

  • This individual will be a key contributor for developing new functionality in an existing web application
