We are seeking an Human Resources Intern for our US Corporate HR Team in Dallas, TX:

Summary

The Human Resources Intern will have exposure to Human Resource functions including Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Recruiting and HRIS.

Essential Responsibilities

The Human Resources Intern will learn the practical application of:

  • Steps in the recruiting and hiring process including: posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting telephone and in-person interviews including working with company leaders to schedule the final candidates.

  • Steps in the onboarding process including an opportunity to improve the current process to increase time to productivity and ensure that employees are engaged in the company culture.

  • The importance of employment law and compliance, especially regarding employment eligibility, confidentiality, proper maintenance of employee files, and forms management.

  • The interrelationship of HR and Finance in the areas of new employee paperwork, payroll issues related to onboarding and termination, use of a payroll management database, and report generation.

  • Employee benefits management issues related to benefits enrollment and termination, troubleshooting employee benefits issues, and the customer service aspect of benefits oversight

  • Compensation practices inclusive of writing job descriptions, market pay, and salary planning and sales plans documentation.

  • The process and application of performance management, key competencies, and training and education within the workplace.

  • Research and collect data for various HR initiatives.

  • Participate in regular HR team meetings.

  • Assist with HR related projects as needed.
