  • Prior experience developing and maintain complex applications.

  • Experience supporting the technical aspects of Eclipse running on a Unix or Linux platform

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate with and lead technical and non-technical people at all levels of an organization, in various functions in stressful situations.

  • Strong leadership experience - proven track record of inspiring, leading and managing Teams in developing strategies and delivering on those strategies with particular focus on delivering technical solutions in support of solving business problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and partner with 3rd parties to deliver business solutions.

  • Proven experience developing and managing budgets at a project and cost center level.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years' experience working with or in an IT environment requiring broad and deep technical skills, and business process background, preferably in a large IT organization.

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree with a preference for a degree in a technical discipline. Graduate degree in a related field would be desirable.

  • This position will require 10-20% travel some of it internationally.

We are currently seeking an IT Director – Infrastructure Operations:

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Rexel CTO and other IT Directors to run Infrastructure Operations with a special emphasis on cloud solutions, an outsourced Helpdesk, Network and Datacenter operations needed to provide efficient and stable compute environments for our customers and employees. We use Linux, Windows, AS400, IBM Mainframe, Oracle, SQL Server, MySql, Hybris, data replication and other technologies and applications used in the wholesale distribution space.

  • Interface with Rexel technical and application teams across the globe to ensure that we deliver reliable and efficient IT operations

  • Manage US Helpdesk activities as well as ensure that level 2 and level 3 Infrastructure operations outsourced to CapGemini are performing at world class levels

  • Manage all network operations performed by Alliant and other providers to ensure that we are providing adequate bandwidth and uptime to our branches, distribution centers and corporate offices

  • Work closely with CGI to ensure stable and efficient datacenter operations. Partner with the IT Directors to ensure that all their applications and systems have a 99.97% uptime. Ensure that we plan for and test our disaster recovery capabilities at least once a year.

  • Identify issues that keep causing problems in the environment and work with the Infrastructure and applications teams to find and implement solutions. Monitor Sev1 and Sev2 outages and track root cause as well as actions being taken to reduce or eliminate the defects.

  • Drive improvements throughout the Infrastructure teams with data on outages and problems.

  • Engage as an active member of the senior IT Leadership Team to drive the strategic and tactical use of technology within Rexel.

  • Select, develop and mentor the people on this Team to ensure we have the most capable people available from a technical and process point of view.

  • Ensure Team is executing all required processes in the correct manner to support all business requirements.

  • Identify areas of opportunity to drive the use of innovative solutions to help the business grow profitably

  • Development of strong technical talent for the IT Team and for Rexel in general.

  • Deliver all projects assigned to the Team on time, on budget while meeting business needs.

  • Meeting or beating all IT budget challenges.
