Skills, Knowledge, and Education Required:

  • Understand market dynamics and drive the most effective supplier alignment. Key factors - supplier positioning, core manufacturing capability, supplier performance, and profitability.

  • Understand related product and services to core category implement complimentary strategies to achieve objectives.

  • Experience in commodity management in Electrical, Lighting, Tool or related Industry.

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing or other related business field is required.

  • Practical experience within the electrical supply distribution industry a plus.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager for Rexel USA for the Installation Category. This is a key National role and will partner with the Director – Purchasing for their assigned category.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Owns the negotiation with suppliers on our supply needs nationally for assigned category. Focus is to develop a national program that includes scaled cost negotiation, rebate negotiation and payment terms in support of our desired product offering.

  • Key component of this position will be to maximize available rebates with program partners and identifying and targeting category suppliers without a program for inclusion.

  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting on rebate realization to budget for assigned category.

  • Supplier surveillance on performance, quality and delivery metrics and assurance they meet their contractual obligations. Owns the corrective actions of any deviation.

  • Strong coordination with the Category Managers on supplier selection in support of the category product offering and product life cycle management.

  • System cost management with a focus on cost improvement driven by understanding market dynamics as well as profitability of the category.

  • Clear understanding and measured on overall profitability of the category. This includes the commercial margin, overall global margin metrics and realization of earned rebate to budget.

  • Become a key facilitator for driving stock sales growth of the category by working closely with the Category Managers and Regional Vice Presidents.

  • Have a clear view of regional and national markets to give guidance to the commercial teams.
