Overlay sales personnel providing specialist product expertise to the sales force.

Partners with Account, Technology, and Application sales representatives to qualify and close new business on Oracle solutions. Provides specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within sales representatives territory. Interacts with sales team to architect the solution, and develop and execute solution strategies for market. Manages solution opportunities to obtain appropriate and necessary resources for all qualified opportunities. Leads teams in the sales process for establishing market visibility and deal visibility. Presents/demonstrates solution to high level clients and industry conference attendees. May provide training to field sales on industry/solutions. Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years applicable experience preferred. Subject matter expertise in industry/product space. Knowledge of key industry leaders and management. Knowledge of Oracle competition. Presentation and product demonstration experience. Previous consultative selling experience preferred. Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers. Travel may be needed. BA/BS degree in related field.

OracleUtilities Global Business Unit is seeking a Manager, Regulatory Affairs, towork at Opower s San Francisco, CA or Arlington, VA office (or in region forthe right candidate) and expand our business opportunities throughout theAmerican Midwest and Canada. We need an entrepreneurial professional who canuse the policy-making and regulatory processes to advance the market for energyefficiency and demand response, utility investment in technology innovation,and accelerate our sales.


About the Job

Asthe Manager, Regulatory Affairs, you will be responsible for leading andexecuting Oracle Utilities regulatory and policy strategy in the Midwest andCanada. Oracle works with utilities, and engages closely with governmentofficials, regulators, and stakeholders to remove obstacles or promote policiesto advance sales. In this role, you will report to the Director, RegulatoryAffairs and work closely with the regional sales team.

Theideal candidate brings business judgment to regulatory work and has the acumento align regulatory strategy with business need. You are a relationshipbuilder, policy advocate, and communicator with a strong business sense. Youhave a combination of qualitative, analytical, and communication skillssufficient to handle technical policy issues and be able to communicateand shape outcomes in a compelling manner across a variety of stakeholders. Candidatesshould be energized by spending time in the field growing and / or defending amarket more than sitting at a desk. Regional knowledge and relationshipsare a plus. This role will involve travel about 25 percent of the time andwill be based in Opower s Arlington, VA or San Francisco, CA offices. We willconsider in region placement for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Collaborateclosely with the sales team and our clients to build regulatory acceptance withPublic Utility Commissions for Oracle s innovative products and the energyreductions, customer engagement, and utility system efficiencies they deliver.

Buildstrong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory commissions,utility clients, state energy officials, ISO/RTOs, environmental groups,industry associations, and consumer advocates.

Be a publicspokesperson for Oracle Utilities in regulatory proceedings, conferences, hearingsand other external meetings.

Work withindustry and stakeholder partners to grow and/or defend the overall market for utilityinvestment in demand side management and IT innovation in your region.


About You

You have aBA/BS and preferably a relevant advanced degree.

You have atleast five years of work experience in the energy or utility industry.

You are anexceptional written and oral communicator who knows how to advocate for anidea.

You aredetail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and have strong political instincts.

You canthink strategically about how to solve complex problems and can convince othersto adopt your vision.

You are astrong relationship builder and connector.

You haveproven analytical skills and at least a basic understanding of statistics.

Youfunction well in a fast-paced, team-focused environment where you need to buildconsensus across departments.

You arepassionate about becoming an energy efficiency and demand response evangelist, andshaping regulatory and legislative policy that advances utility investment intechnology innovation.
