The In-Line Inspection Technician will be responsible for job specific logistics, pre-job site visits and pre-job meetings that are associated with field logistics required to perform a successful pipeline inspection. In addition the qualified individual will be responsible for the items listed below in the key responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be one that has proven that they are highly motivated in personal and corporate development and opportunity will be given for advancement.
Perform job specific logistics, pre-job site visits, and pre-job meetings.
Reviewing of client's launch/ receive plan and client safety requirements;
Performing safety assessment on-site
Performing pig tests
Verify tool configuration matches job requirements
Perform electronic setup checks on ILI tools and ancillary equipment
Repairs sensors and operates tool control program
Manipulates tool calibration set-up
Recovers lost data
Tailgates safety meeting, marker placement/operation training, ILI tool startup and synchronization
Assists client with loading/unloading tool in launcher/receiver
Assists client with launcher/ receiver operation
Verifies proper utilization of marker boxes
Assists client with locating stuck pigs, abnormal pig operations
Downloads data and reviews data to determine if run is acceptable
Performs field communication with client
May perform duties of Level III Technician under close supervision
50 to 75 % travel
Working in all-weather elements
High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of experience with operating smart pigs
Formal training in either mechanics or electronics
Adept mechanical ability in basic mechanics
Understanding of basic electronics principle
Software skills with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat
Pipeline awareness and past pigging activities will also be an asset
