TIC – The Industrial Company is seeking Millwright Mechanical Foreman.
The successful candidate shall direct and supervise the planning, lay-out, installation and alignment of equipment and machinery in accordance with all plans, specifications, tolerances and industry standards. Plan and coordinate the efforts of the leadmen and craftsmen under his/her supervision and motivate them to accomplish the work safely, correctly and efficiently. Work with or supervise other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
Be able to perform all of the essential functions of craft workers under his/her supervision.
Perform task planning to safely and efficiently carry out all aspects of that work assigned.
Train/teach safety practices, policies and procedures related to an employee's assigned tasks.
Gain a complete understanding of the scope of work and the related parts of the project.
Develop a thorough understanding of the project plans, specifications and schedules as they relate to that portion of the work assigned.
Conduct tool box meetings and communicate safety concerns, work scope, plans and schedules to the leadmen and crews.
Plan and communicate with the warehouse and purchasing to assure that an adequate supply of tools, materials and equipment are available.
Ensure through personal inspections that correct construction procedures are followed and work is in compliance with the plans and specifications.
Ensure that millwrights are qualified to perform their work. Review crew's timecards for correct hours and phase coding.
Monitor and report quantities of work accomplished on a daily/weekly basis.
Provide on-the-job training to those individuals under his/her supervision.
Complete performance reviews of leadmen and craft workers.
In addition, perform other job specific duties and have a basic understanding of the scheduling, material control and unit man hour performance management systems.
Education, Experience or Formal Training:
Must have working knowledge of machinery, including mechanical knowledge of gears, pumps, motor rotation and drive systems.
Able to read mechanical drawings and use precision tools.
Must set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity for the members of his/her crew.
Working Environment & Physical Demands:
Ability to work in conditions common to a construction site including but not limited to rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, sun, cold, noise.
Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift.
Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
Climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Possess full range of motion and flexibility.
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
