As a key member of the Midstream Oil & NGL capabilities area/team and the Oil Markets, Midstream, Downstream and Chemical ("OMDC") business your focus will be on managing and delivering midstream industry and natural gas liquids ("NGL") client engagements featuring natural gas and petroleum liquids markets and facility analysis with a specific focus on crude oil and natural gas gathering systems and pipelines, natural gas processing plants, NGL fractionation facilities, NGL storage and terminal operations, and NGL and crude oil distribution systems. In this capacity, it would be expected that you would provide leadership and input into the Midstream Oil & NGL team and other OMDC and Energy organizations. The Midstream Oil & NGL Consulting Director will report to the Vice President of the Midstream Oil & NGL capabilities area/team.

General Duties

  • Contribute to Midstream Oil & NGL team's consulting engagements featuring technical, market and commercial analysis of NGL and petroleum liquids (including crude oil and condensate)

  • Support and collaborate with various groups from around IHS Markit by contributing to these groups’ ongoing stream of consulting projects

  • Maintain current and thorough knowledge of the technical, market, and commercial aspects of the natural gas and petroleum liquids midstream businesses along with other Midstream Oil & NGL team members

  • Contribute to and assist with the delivery of the Midstream Oil & NGL subscription based products and services (the "NGL markets products/services") thereby establishing, nurturing, and gaining a frm understanding of the capabilities within the Midstream Oil & NGL area

  • Contribute to the financial performance of the Midstream Oil & NGL capabilities area and the OMDC business through the execution and delivery of consulting projects described above

Specific Job Duties

  • Develop opportunities for single-client engagements through relationship development and marketing activities. Cross-sell other IHS Markit products and services

  • Develop, negotiate and execute proposals for consulting engagements

  • Lead consulting engagements in the petroleum, natural gas, and NGL midstream industry

  • Provide strategic due diligence assistance to buyers and sellers of midstream assets

  • Perform technical, market and economic assessments of existing plant/facility operations, with emphasis on improvement of commercial viability and asset performance improvement

  • Demonstrate familiarity with prevailing cost structures for midstream facilities and operations

  • Perform site inspections as necessary when due diligence is carried out

  • Work with consulting leaders to develop proposals and respond to Tender and RFP documents issued by IHS client companies

  • Contribute to consulting engagements in the areas of strategy, economic benchmarking, market entry/exit, mergers and acquisitions, technical evaluations and similar scopes

  • Develop PowerPoint and written reports to summarize findings for clients

Required Education

Primary degree in a relevant engineering discipline; Secondary degree in a relevant field of study is desirable

Required Experience

  • Minimum ten years of experience in the midstream industry, specifically with engineering design, operation, commercial operations, business development, maintenance and project management of petroleum liquids and or natural gas pipelines, gathering, processing, storage, and other midstream facilities and/or petrochemical feedstocks

  • BS Degree in Engineering—Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Petroleum preferred

  • Language(s) - English, however additional languages are a plus

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a strong team and client-focused orientation

  • Facility Operations Management/Staff

  • Commercial Operations Management/Staff

  • Planning and Business Development Engineer/Manager

  • Midstream Facilities Process/Project Engineer

  • Consultant in relevant consulting environment

Other Skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional Suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Personable interface at multiple levels within a client’s organization
