Role works in cooperation with Legal Department, Company management and environment, health, safety & regulatory department, providing legal advice and services across organization pertaining to all environment, health, safety & regulatory matters.

Detailed Description

  • Provides EHSR legal advice and services to Company and affiliates

  • Interacts as needed with relevant governmental agencies

  • Prepares, reviews and interprets legal documents

  • Monitors regulatory and statutory developments

  • Assists with EHSR related training, due diligence, investigations and emergency response

  • Manages external legal counsel

  • Represents the Company in industry and community affairs

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Legal Department management

Job Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school and minimum ten (10) years of experience relevant to Company‚Äôs EHSR business operations

  • Licensed to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction and be in good standing

  • Colorado, Texas, Gulf of Mexico and/or International Regulatory Legal experience preferred

  • Expertise in air and water matters, remediation and regulatory investigations

  • Upstream energy industry and/or midstream business experience strongly preferred

  • Prior in-house and law firm experience preferred

  • Strong communication and analytical skills

  • Ability to work multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
