Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of HES Specialist - Essential Suite located in Houston, TX or San Ramon, CA through May 30, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).


The HES Specialist will be responsible for supporting project, configuration and sustainability activities of the Essential Suite IT application, which supports the assurance of safeguards and register management and environmental data capture and reporting.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Develops and maintains long-term strategic plan for application.

  • Continued management of application enhancements for process and data management

  • Continued management of streamlining and efficiency activities

  • Supports maintenance and change management of content

  • Manages Essential Suite content and corresponding SharePoint sites

  • Develops and supports organizational capability across enterprise

  • Recommends/guidance on how application can support business processes with relation to register, safeguard, and environmental data capture and management

  • Collaborates with specialists in HES and operational disciplines, specifically within the scope of register, safeguard and environmental management.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with process advisors and specialists at the corporate, business segment and business unit levels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety, Engineering or related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply HES technical knowledge to effective use of HES IT systems.

  • Technical knowledge of the OE Assurance and Environmental Stewardship processes, and Environmental Performance Standards.

  • Ability to foster cooperation and collaboration.

  • Ability to remove barriers to cooperation and teamwork across organizations and functions.

  • Ability to develop a common understanding of, and consensus on, key issues and processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects including outlining objectives and goals, preparing and executing work plans, developing and following schedules, overseeing and coordinating internal and external project support staff.

  • Ability to connect OE business process requirements to the IT applications that support the business process. Understands and promotes use of technology to support business processes.

  • Knowledge of Essential Suite.
