We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Human Resources Associate on our International Human Resources team in Houston, Texas. We are looking for a self-motivated, high performing individual to join our international HR team in Houston reporting to the HR Manager- International. The successful candidate will provide HR administrative support to assigned client groups as well as provide expatriate administration services to ensure a smooth transition for Oxy’s global mobility population.
Responsibilities include: · Provides administrative support for the International HR team.
· Coordinates with Business Units, HRIS, and HR DAT teams to update PeopleSoft for job changes, department/organization changes, salary actions, transfers, and other employee related events for client groups and expatriates. · Extracts data from various HR systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Taleo, Success Factors, etc.) for analysis and reporting.
· Processes invoices and tax payment requests, ensuring proper coding and approval, and tracking for timely payment. · Prepares Domestic and International new hire and transfer offer letters. · Coordinates with IT on workflow matters related to new hires, transfers and terminations within assigned client groups. · Creates and updates organizational charts and distribution lists for client groups and International HR team. · Supports staffing tasks such as creating job requisitions in Taleo, tracking new hire Onboarding progress and start dates, initiating relocation for transfers, and preparing internal transfer/promotion letters for client groups.
· Responds to general employee inquiries on domestic HR and expatriate policies & procedures (e.g., vacation service credit, education assistance, short term disability, employment verifications).
· Tracks short term disability, long term disability, education assistance, and employee recognition awards for client groups and expatriates. · Runs periodic data audits of data in PeopleSoft for client groups to ensure data consistency and accuracy. · Orders office supplies, as needed. · Organizes and coordinates meetings, training sessions, and/or luncheons, as needed. · Assists with communications to expatriates who have missed deadlines to submit tax information and/or payments due to Oxy. · Serve as backfill for other HR Associates on International HR team, including U.S. immigration coordination and expatriate payroll coordination/processing. · Coordinate onboarding for Oxy’s partner employees on temporary assignment in the U.S. · Coordinate with Oxy Relocation and third party vendor to set up cultural awareness orientations for expatriates & inpatriates. · Other duties as assigned · High School Diploma · Minimum two years of experience in Human Resources or administrative support role · Ability to handle confidential data with a high level of professionalism · Demonstrated sense of urgency and level of energy required to handle a fast-paced, changing environment · Ability to prepare correspondence and documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail · Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills, including ability to manipulate and analyze data using pivot tables, v-lookups and Excel formulas · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Proven ability to work independently on multiple projects concurrently with time sensitive deadlines · Must demonstrate flexibility when work assignments or priorities change and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure the overall effectiveness of the HR function · Resourceful in accomplishing work tasks and obtaining needed information · Ability to interact with employees and team in a helpful, courteous and professional manner · Able to work overtime when needed
