This position will provide support to the various areas of the HR department to include but not limited to payroll, benefits, recruiting, training, compliance, employee relations, etc. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives direct supervision from the Human Resources Assistant Manager and indirectly reports to the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Director. Does not exercise supervision over any other position but may request assistance from the department’s administrative staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs and provide back up and support in HR areas including but not limited to payroll, benefits, recruiting, and employee relations.
Take on and handle the overflow with regards to recruiting, to include full life cycle recruiting.
Administer the company’s onboarding program to include pre-employment drug screen and background check program.
Ensures that the established hiring process is followed, documented, and fully complies with the companies AAP and with all current EEO trends, laws and company’s hiring requirements
Assist with employee relation matters and interprets regulations and policies as appropriate and consistently
Reviews, drafts and updates job descriptions to ensure accuracy of duties performed and requirements as well as compliance with all applicable state and/or federal laws
Recommends, evaluates and participates in training and development.
Helps to enforce directives advising department managers of company policy regarding employment, compensation, employee benefits, training and labor relations.
Prepares and maintains, SOP and training manuals for various areas in HR.
Work in conjunction with other department areas to develop statistical reports, pertaining to workforce turnover, OT, recruiting, etc.
Prepares and issues reports on recruiting, outreach, effectiveness of advertisement and referral programs, hiring, terminations, promotions, and employee population
Attends seminars and educational programs relevant to duties and responsibilities
May assist in the management and administration of the company’s compensation programs, ensuring legal and equitable pay practices
May conduct exit interviews, prepares separation trend analyses, and makes recommendations on ways to improve retention
May provide support with performance appraisals ensuring that they are completed, submitted and received in a timely manner.
Provide support during audits
Prepare and maintain employee files, assuring accuracy, completeness, compliance and confidentiality
Perform other additional related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES:
A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible Human Resources Experience in a corporate environment.
Working knowledge of OFCCP, EEOC roles and EEO, ADA, ADEA, PDA, VEVRAA rules, laws, guidelines and other applicable local, state and federal laws and practice areas, policies and procedures
Bachelor’s Degree or currently pursuing degree in Human Resources Management or current SHRM Certification (PHR, SPHR, or GPHR)
Must have Intermediate to Advanced Computer skills in programs such as MS Word, Excel & Outlook, etc.
Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English at an Advanced level in a business environment
Must have an advanced communication skill to communicate at different levels throughout the organization and with exterior organizations, candidates, etc.
Demonstrated ability to foster positive employee relations and partner with senior management to drive HR and Business initiatives
Ability to prepare a variety of reports
Ability to work independently with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative
Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and be detail oriented
Ability to consistently meet deadlines
Possess strong analytical skills
Ability to think logically, establish and follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions
Possess high energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed
Prior experience of working with companies with an established Affirmative Action Plan.
Proficiency with HRIS systems is a plus
Evidenced experience investigating Title VII complaints
May be subject to physical with other tests as applicable
