This position supports Additive Manufacturing Operations by working with Engineers and Technicians to provide machined prototype parts, fixtures, and tooling required for successful completion of engineering testing.


  • Set up and operate a special purpose additive manufacturing, specifically a DMG MORI Lasertec 65 3D hybrid machine

  • Post process additively manufactured parts on manual and NC mills and lathes, Wire EDM, bandsaw, and heat treat equipment

  • Cross train and be ready to backfill operation of powder bed 3D machines

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements

  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls as required


Primary Requirements

  • 20 years of experience in a machine shop environment

  • DMG milling machine experience

  • Siemens 840D control experience

  • Conversational programming experience on Siemens 840D

  • Willingness to take on non-routine jobs including running manual machines

  • Willingness to own basic machine maintenance tasks as defined by the Preventative Maintenance schedule

Secondary Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances and to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry

  • Ability to calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media

  • Ability to effectively communicate with Engineers and Technicians

  • Ability to handle multiple work requests in a fast paced environment


  • High School diploma or GED

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook are a plus

  • Experience using SAP


  • Successful candidate will be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
