Detailed Description

Automation Technical Requirements

  • Industrial Control System (ICS) hardware and software components at the local level which includes LACT, Gas Metering and Process Measurement components.

  • Provides technical supervision, guidance and expertise for all phases of automation projects, front-end engineering through detailed design, configuration, implementation, startup and commissioning.

  • Directs and coordinates the specifications and operations of midstream control systems

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control applications, including field instrumentation, control systems and safety systems, SCADA hardware and software networking components.

  • Server Applications that are required to monitor and transfer data to critical business and automation components. Applications include but are not limited to:

  • Engineering Work Stations for remote trouble shooting.

  • ClearSCADA for Operational Control Center remote viewing and monitoring.

  • AssetCentre for field program monitoring, audits and master copy backups.

  • Kepware for transfer of NBLX meter volume and audit documentation transfer to FlowCal.

  • Historians to provide data exchange to OSI Pi and trending analytical tools.

  • ThinManagers to allow remote viewing of ICS assets in the field.

  • Metering Work stations for meter technicians to efficiently preform required work.

  • Call-Out systems for remote notification to the operations staff.

  • Communications Infrastructure monitoring to proactively monitor the health of the SCADA networks.

  • Industrial Control System log In Security validation systems.

Project Management Requirements

  • Manages multiple Automation and Controls Engineers in support of capital projects and operations.

  • Strong background and hands’ on experience with multiple systems platforms, operating systems and the interactions between systems, system hardware and architecture.

  • Directs and coordinates the specifications and operations of midstream control systems

  • Works closely with engineering contractors in the design, manufacture, and testing midstream control systems and fabrication contractors to ensure a facility of high quality built in a safe manner at reasonable cost with minimal impact on production

  • Participates, and in some cases leads, in the ongoing development of company procedures and standards.

  • Supports, trains and develops direct reports.

  • Provides on-site guidance in the field or at vendor’s facilities as required to support fabrication, construction, start-up and commissioning.

  • Directs and coordinates the specifications and operations of midstream control systems

  • Familiarity with risk assessment techniques including HAZOP and SIL including in-house best practices related to Safety Instrumented Systems design

Job Requirements

  • BS degree from 4-year accredited university.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in upstream and/or midstream oil and gas industry

  • Experience with major upstream/midstream oil and gas projects

  • Previous experience managing teams

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • PMP is preferred.

  • Experience working for the Owner / Operator is preferred
