O&G/CHEMICALS/MINING COMMODITY MANAGEMENT BUSINESS PROCESS – SENIOR CONSULTANT
**this is a virtual role with weekly travel as needed to client site

The Commodity Management Business Processes Consultant focused on the O&G/Chemicals/Mining industries facilitates the implementation and support of the SAP Commodity Management and Risk Management solutions to enhance the clients’ business functionality and overall performance, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction. In addition, the consultant will partner with the client to analyze and define business requirements, processes and objectives to scope project and deliverables for same. The consultant will implement, customize and test solutions on client system and develop client-specific enhancements to meet business requirements as needed; as well as assisting clients in achieving their Digital Transformation vision and Best-Run Business capability from their SAP and other IT investments. This is a key leadership role, requiring deep knowledge and understanding of SAP technical & functional capabilities as well as business processes and industry best practices. The consultant provides comprehensive advice to our customers on long-term (Big Picture) and short-term (Quick-win) perspectives on their key strategic imperatives and recommends innovations which anticipate the future directions of both business and IT stakeholders. Excellent facilitation and communication skills are essential as is engaging with executive stakeholders, partners and SAP account teams.
Key member of the SAP Energy and Natural Resources Practice that helps define our client’s core strategic road map and provides leadership in their transformation journey.
Help our customers understand how SAP fits into their roadmap and what functionality should be leveraged to meet their business requirements.
Provide our customers key insight and direction related to industry trends, best practices, and world-class solutions.
Broad knowledge of the SAP IS-Oil Solution and deep industry expertise (i.e. Upstream O&G, Downstream O&G, Oil Field Services).
Deep product expertise/business experience in S4/HANA with specific focus on SAP Commodity Management/Risk Management/Analytics (exposure to SAP Pricing - Formula and Average preferred).
Extensive functional and/or solution experience with the ability to facilitate, implement, and support SAP’s products to enhance our clients’ business functionality and overall performance, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.
Ability to provide thought leadership and resolve complex issues in escalated projects.
Performance of feasibility studies / solution and process design reviews.
Support of pre-sales activities (license and services).
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:
Thought leader in the Oil and Gas/Chemicals/Mining industry and deep knowledge of industry best practices.
Broad Industry /corporate process implementation knowledge across all related applications (SAP/non-SAP).
Stay informed of the SAP roadmap, solutions, service offerings and market trends.
Facilitate collaborative architecture discussions with our customer, IT and business executives.
Development of 3-5 year strategic roadmaps encompassing the evolution of enterprise business solution portfolios from current to future state.
Close alignment with the SAP Sales Team to help develop account plans and to assist in positioning the correct SAP products and services.
Facilitate communications between business and technology stakeholders to ensure desired business outcomes are met.
Analyze and map clients’ business requirements, processes and objectives; develop necessary product modifications to satisfy clients’ needs.
Assist in the development of the overall project plan (scoping process) as well as individual work plans; acting as liaison with client for troubleshooting (investigates, analyses, and solves software problems).
Act as a team lead / Business Processes Consultant and support respective manager(s) in people development tasks.
Ensure the value realization of SAP products is realized during the implementation/ transformation.
Identify and extract knowledge assets from S/4HANA projects and knowledge share with the internal Energy and Natural Resource (ENR) Consulting Practice.
A minimum of 7 years SAP consulting experience in the Oil and Gas/Chemicals Industry with at least 5 years in Commodity Management and at least 2 end to end implementations.
Strong leadership skills - able to lead customer engagements at an executive level.
Deep understanding of Oil and Gas/Chemicals industry business processes.
Has been in a team lead role on a major project and has provided mentoring/leadership to others.
Experience in license and services pre-sales activities.
Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for technical and non-technical audiences.
Overall knowledge of SAP Commodity Management solutions with strong knowledge of Commodity Pricing and Risk Management processes and best practices.
Expertise in the configuration and implementation of Commodity Pricing Engine (CPE), Logistics to TRM integration and Analytics.
Expertise in the integration of Commodity Management with other SAP solutions.
Proven experience in configuring, testing, and supporting SAP Commodity Management solutions.
Experience with Central Commodity Management, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Activate Methodology, and ABAP development/debugging a plus.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor’s Degree – Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of the Oil and Gas/Chemical/Mining Industry business processes and deep expertise in SAP Commodity Management/Controlling/Accounting.
Hands-on SAP configuration experience required.
