Due Diligence on New Project Investments:
- Perform project evaluations, project agreement and contract reviews and due diligence to help make recommendations in support of acquisitions, divestitures and/or investments in company developed projects.
Support the development of information sharing platforms and work management systems, including populating such systems with historical records and archiving of documents.
Serve as interface between regional Business Development and Construction activities.
Manage the P&L for all generating assets within assigned portfolio by preparing and tracking project budgets.
Perform financial analyses, project evaluations, and due diligence to help make recommendations in support of plant optimization, recovery plans and other major projects and capital investment and revenue enhancement proposals.
Investigate any major plant outages and influence resolution or minimization of outages.
Monitor operational performance weekly/monthly by reviewing O&M and other plant performance reports.
Compile monthly operations performance and financial variance reports, and investigate and remedy these variances.
Negotiate/amend project company agreements due to any project modifications.
Update financial models on an adhoc as well as quarterly basis.
Project Company Administration, Compliance & Reporting:
Lead regional business administration activities to help ensure that asset/land owner obligations and interests are successfully administered under the asset s project and financing agreements and that general business related license, permit and regulatory requirements, reporting and transactions with regional authorities, banks, taxing, governing and other external parties are successfully managed.
Coordinate project partnership agreements, serve on project boards and support regional commercial and contractual business activities as needed.
Assist in negotiations with PUCs, ISOs, city, county and state authorities and governing boards.
Prepare monthly lost output and guaranteed energy production reports per applicable PPA requirements.
Monitor and administer renewable energy credit (REC) obligations under various PPA contracts.
Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly lender reports per requirements of financing agreements.
Report to partners on weekly/monthly/quarterly basis as required.
Prepare quarterly/annual regulatory filings (CEC, EIA, etc)
Prepare and submit monthly loan and operating draw requests.
Control and manage project document retention.
Respond to intra-company requests for information regarding NRG s solar fleet.
Construct and maintain contract compliance tracking systems by reviewing and summarizing deliverables of contracts and other project documents.
Community & Project Stakeholder Engagement:
Form positive relationships with long-term customers, partners or joint asset owners, transmission providers, etc.
Attend town council meetings and engage with chamber of commerce and county supervisor periodically.
Identify and make project related charitable giving to foster project and community goodwill.
3 years of energy industry experience in a project development, project administration, business administration, project management, asset management, contract administration, deal execution, project finance or other commercial role.
Renewable energy industry experience in solar, wind, geothermal or hydro.
Strong business and financial savvy with the ability to support a high performance organization that will deliver operational excellence and meet or exceed financial targets.
An ability to perform at a high level in a matrixed organization, working in inter-departmental teams to achieve objectives.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Willingness to travel, both within the U.S. and internationally.
Demonstrated computer literacy, including internet, Excel, Word, etc.
Bachelor s in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
Technical experience with renewable energy resources.
