The Director of Healthcare Business Application Development provides the necessary leadership, facilitation, analysis and management related to the development and support of Business Application Systems related to healthcare practice with a focus with Revenue Cycle Management Systems. These applications are used by Navigant-Cymetrix professionals and clients to deliver technology enabled Revenue Cycle Management services. The development team is a multi-disciplinary software development team that supports product management, requirement gathering, solution architecture and design, solution development, quality assurance and production support for major workflow and business automation applications used by Navigant-Cymetrix and their clients.
In addition to leading and managing the development team, the Director of Healthcare Business Application Development participates in the leadership discussions, sales planning and strategy sessions of the healthcare segments to ensure that technology investments across the segment are highly optimized by removing redundant efforts, enforcing best practices and promoting collaboration across all the technology enabled initiatives.
The Director of Healthcare Business Application Development is a member of the Information Technology Leadership Team and will play an active role in shaping and formulating Navigant’s long-term IT Strategy. This individual also liaises with other IT leaders to ensure the segment’s business-technology needs are met and executed per IT and Security best practices.
Essential Job Functions
Manage an application portfolio to ensure that the systems, data and technology aspects of the business applications are driven by the business imperatives of the segments and that the requirements driving the overall architecture are managed consistently and effectively.
Effectively manage a globally distributed development team
Develop and manage the execution of an effective portfolio management process.
Assess the requirements and present solution recommendations that are in line with the strategic vision for the enterprise and wider best practices.
Provide leadership to the architecture and technical community and maintain constructive relationships with suppliers to allow effective and productive evaluation of vendor offerings against business requirements, constraints and priorities.
Serve as a subject matter expert for architectural frameworks, methods and tools.
Possess high level oral and written communication, problem solving, and collaboration skill sets.
Promote leveraging existing investments to reduce waste and improve time to market.
Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other or business and IT strategies.
Work closely with IT Security to manage risks associated with information and IT assets through appropriate standards and security policies.
Display strong negotiation skills with business partners and internal and external clients.
Maintain knowledge on current and emerging technologies and healthcare industry technologies and trends and evaluates the impact of those trends on the segment in achieving its business objectives.
BA/BS in computer science or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
10+ years of relevant progressive experience in an information technology or computer science field.
Experience managing Agile software development processes
Experience in delivering mission critical systems by deploying information architecture, software engineering and security framework
5+ years of experience in healthcare/revenue cycle management industry
Experience leading HITRUST Certification process
Experience in building and supporting solutions in compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST and OCR Requirements
Experience managing large teams (> 50 FTEs) located in various countries including India.
Thorough understanding of infrastructure, networking, application programming, web development, mobile development and data integration.
Effective presentation, meeting facilitation, verbal and written communications skills.
Previous experience presenting to the C-suite, senior leadership or equivalent
Effective collaboration and team work skills.
Ability to think in terms of processes.
Elevated attention to detail, accuracy, organization, interpersonal, critical thinking, and team-oriented skills.
Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Good working knowledge of Security requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PHI, PCI) and implementation experience.
Experience with managing large scale deployments and projects that include deadlines and budget constraints.
Ability to travel domestically and globally (>25%)
Ability to work and meet across various time zones
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
