The Role: Xylem seeks to hire an Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Coordinator. This position will partner with facility management to lead ESH functions for the Lubbock/Slaton facilities providing technical support and direction to the facility to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Monitors and reports metrics for leading and lagging indicators. Initiates and leads projects to identify and reduce risks to employees and the environment. Works with other functional leads to integrate ESH management systems in the other functional areas.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities :
Provide support and guidance to the Lubbock and Slaton Safety teams, SMART teams, ESH Steering Team, and special project ESH related teams.
Assist operations, shipping, test lab, and other funtional areas to integrate ESH into all areas of the operation. Work to integrate the Xylem ESH Management System throughout the facilities.
Promote ESH support to LSS concerning change management to ensure systems are in place to identify and reduce risks associated with kaizen events, lean integration and other shop floor changes.
Maintain standard communication with shop floor employees and staff to ensure all employees are aware of ESH policies, procedures, metrics, and improvement initiatives.
Maintain records to ensure compliance with environmental regulations including storm water, waste disposal and air emissions. Maintain records to track compliance with OSHA.
Ensure Gensuite items are properly entered into the system and tracked to completion.
Lead projects designed to reduce risk to employees and the environment. Work with contractors and consultants as needed to define and complete projects.
Conduct root cuase analysis and required reporting for all recordable injuries. Provide support to the other functional areas for root cause analysis of non-recordable injuries and near-miss events.
Provide training to meet regulatory requirements and injury prevention. Monitor and report concerning employee training compliance according to the training plan.
Assist other functional areas to ensure employees are trained using internal or external resources for training topics that are not part of the Learning Management System.
Partner with staff and other functional areas to ensure compliance with ESH regulatory requirement and company policies.
Bachelor's degree in safety or environmental management or related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
Experience in a similar ESH role preferred.
1-3 years of ESH experience preferred.
Experience working in a machine shop and assembly operation preferred. -Experience working with environmental regulations preferred.
Knowledge required ESH systems and OSHA regulations, proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Strong communication (verbal and written) skills required.
