ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

The Electronics Technologist will assemble and support all electronic products and will include updating electrical drawings, product assembly, computer setup, testing, troubleshooting, technical support, field support, and warranty repairs.

  • Assembles products from electrical drawings
  • Assembles computers including drive imaging, OS installation, and software configuration
  • May assemble prototype circuitry and/or complete prototype models
  • Troubleshoots and solves problems relating to product development
  • Trouble shooting
  • Failure analysis
  • Audit processes, improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Recommend new methods and processes for manufacturing new and existing products
  • Configures and tests communication equipment such as LAN/WIFI networks, cell modems and radio modems
  • Provides technical support to sales people and customers
  • Completes warrantee repairs
  • Assure product and process quality by developing test methods, capabilities, to ensure repeatability
  • Production hardware issue root cause analysis, diagnosis & corrective action for all non-conformance situations

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Formally report all quality related issues
  • Recommend corrective or preventive actions to assure or improve product quality or reliability
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance
  • Tests and calibrates completed products
  • Maintain manufacturing processes and assembly work instructions
  • Training of production personnel on new products
  • Modifies electrical drawings for engineering approval
  • Writes technical manuals and develops schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of technologist or technician diploma program
  • Must be able to read and produce electronics schematics
  • Computer literacy is essential for the role, so candidates will need to be experienced with Microsoft Windows and Office
  • Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Experience with CAD packages such as AutoCAD would be an asset
  • Proficiency in one or two of the following languages; VB, VB.NET, C, C++ would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to relate effectively with all disciplines at all levels of the Company
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage their time effectively

  • A valid Driver's license is required with a reliable vehicle and acceptable driving record, is required
