TIC – The Industrial Company is seeking Rigger Journeyman.

The successful candidate shall plan, lay-out and install all necessary rigging components for lifting and installing equipment, machinery, pipe, steel, etc. in accordance with all plans, specifications, codes and industry standards. Work with other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.


Use appropriate hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, bend, assemble and erect all components necessary for lifting, moving and installing equipment, machinery, pipe, steel, etc. in accordance with applicable plans, specifications codes and industry standards.

Shakeout of items to be installed into erectable sequence and rigging of same for crane hoisting with a thorough knowledge and use of crane signals.

Be able to guide rigged items into position using a tag line.

Use of oxyacetylene and welding equipment for making adjustments and/or alterations as may be necessary for the installation of rigged items.

Education, Experience or Formal Training:

NCCER Certified Plus


Must have working knowledge of construction equipment, lifting devices, rigging tools and their capacities and working knowledge of all aspect of the rigging craft.

Rigger must pass a written exam on general rigging knowledge and must demonstrate rigging abilities.

Working Environment & Physical Demands:

Ability to work in conditions common to a construction site including but not limited to rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, sun, cold, noise.

Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift.

Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.

Climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.

Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Possess full range of motion and flexibility.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
