Posting Summary:

The College of Engineering seeks candidates who are committed to leadership of the newly established multi-million-dollar research initiative in Smart Micro at Prairie View & M University. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, providing long-term planning, scheduling and development for the new research initiative (CRI); conducting high-quality research and obtaining external competitive grant funding to sustain the research program in Smart Microgrid technology; teaching undergraduate & graduate level courses; engaging in service related activities; researching managing; seeking external research funding; conducting innovation research; expanding the research base of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering; directing and strengthen the Smart Grid CRI Research Center; mentoring graduate students in their research work; teaching undergrad and undergraduate level courses; revising and/ or develop new courses; supporting and promoting the educational mission of the college and university; providing academic leadership; recruiting graduate students for the project; recruiting and retaining outstanding faculty.

Required Education:

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering ort Computer Science.

Required Experience:

Strong research record with fifteen (15) years working experience in an applicable field of research/study. Established publications in the field and must have strong record of securing competitive grant funding and experience in successful management of large grants. Five (5) of management experience in a research/competitive grant environment.

Required Certification(s)/Licensure(s):


Preferred Education:

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering; Having a high degree of demonstrated experience in obtaining external funding from NSF, DOD, and other funding agencies. Demonstrated experience in publishing high quality papers in peer reviewed journals of cancer research.

Preferred Experience Requirements:

More than 15 years research experience in Power Systems or Power Electronics. In addition, the applicant should have a proven track-record of attracting and managing funded research projects in areas such as Distributed Energy sources, Smart Microgrid, and Power Protection.
