We are searching for a SLG Strategist to grow Dells market position in the State and Local Government (SLG) vertical. An SLG Strategist defines long-term goals for the vertical in his/her region, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, builds capacity for Sales Account Executives and Regional Sales Directors to convey Dells SLG Point of View, facilitate discussions with our customers. Lead industry discussions conduct keynotes and seminars. This person will work closely with the Sales Account Executives and Regional Sales Directors, Inside Sales team, Product Specialists and Pre-Sale technical resources.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Supporting sales teams to ensure winning high value opportunities

  • Working with Marketing to help with strategy and program execution for the vertical

  • Identifying long-term and short-term sales opportunities, focusing on sales activities that produce results in both

  • Generating long term industry growth through thought leadership, knowledge of Dells resources and solutions, and professional learning support

  • Developing account presence by creating a high added value working relationship with high level customer organization leaders

  • Representing Dell in industry specific conferences, tradeshows and events with presentation and keynotes

  • Transferring market knowledge to various cross-functional teams through professional learning to improve overall development and positioning of offerings within Dells portfolio

  • Contributing to Dells vision, thought leadership, go to market strategy, and new offerings

  • Being knowledgeable about SLG industry transformation

  • Challenging our customers to provide the best learning environments for students

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field (masters preferred) and 8+ years of experience in SLG Vertical

  • Track record of providing professional learning in SLG; including presenting at conferences

  • Ability to effectively educate stakeholders about the SLG industry and knowledge of current research

  • Willingness to travel and work in a distributed team

  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude under tight deadlines

  • Visionary leader in the SLG vertical that understands current trends and can predict future trends and with current SLG industry affiliations & relationships

  • Ability to facilitate learning for internal Dell teams
