DESCRIPTION:

Data Scientist - Round Rock, TX

We are looking for a candidateto join our Global Deployment and Field Services team and be committed to pioneering massive parallel data-intensive analytic processing. The incumbent will be working towards developing a fundamentally new approach to how business generates meaning and value from data. The incumbent will be developing new methodologies and tools to enable advanced modeling and statistical analysis against petabyte-scale data sets.

Role Requirements

  • W ork with internal and external prospects and customers to prove the analytical capabilities in generating business insights from big data.

  • Seek to understand our customers' most urgent questions, and use statistical methods and models to provide answers, either as part of pre-sales proofs-of-concept or as a paid engagement.

  • Develop new practices and methodologies for working with the internal data technologies, often working closely with leading academics and industry experts.

  • Work with engineers to create new tools and features that support sophisticated analytics within the database.

  • Interact with business leaders to understand business strategy, conditions and problem areas.

  • Contribute to business strategy and influence decision making based on information gained from deep dive analysis.

  • Produce actionable and compelling recommendations by interpreting, exploring, identifying and communicating insights discovered from complex data sets.

  • Partners with both internal and external resources to gather and examine data from disparate sources with the goal of discovering previously hidden insights.

  • Design, develop and program methods, processes and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured data to generate actionable insights and solutions.

  • Develop algorithms, and automate processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large data-sets from multiple disparate sources.

  • Construct predictive models, algorithms and probability engines; verify model and algorithm effectiveness based on actual results.

  • Handle projects with a long term-focus in a timely manner and act as sought out subject matter analytics expert.

  • Serve as aresource for the identification of requirements and possible technical approach to the development of new analytics capabilities for the big data platform, relating to core subject-matter expertise.

  • Proactively identify gaps and collaborate with engineering teams to find solutions, while solidifying commitments to execute these.

QUALIFICATION:

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and 8+ years, or Graduate degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.

  • Possess appropriate mathematical knowledge and expertise with statistical analysis.

  • Expert knowledge of job associated programming languages Expert Macro, C, C++, Visual Basic Programming.

  • Expert knowledge/understanding of business environment and industry trends.

  • Possess expert product/technology/industry knowledge.

  • Posses an un derstanding of products and their value-add to the customers. Expert leadership
