Position Purpose: The Sr. Financial Analyst - Maintenance & Construction will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of the maintenance and construction departments. Facilitate accounting activities including, but not limited to, management and forecasting of the capital and expense budgets. Use data in maintenance management system to create analytics and reporting documentation preparation involving expense management, work order status, and work assignments. Management of project tracking tools to comprehensively maintain spend control. Additionally, the position supports the energy manager, responsible for generating utility / energy analytics, internal reporting, and data validation. Essential Job Functions: Through previous background and experience the candidate must demonstrate, with or without an accommodation, the ability to perform the following job functions: Apply knowledge of accounting standards, finance tools and key business drivers in strategic decision making, planning, and execution Support cross-functional teams working together to solve difficult and complex problems to accomplish challenging objectives Expert use of Excel and Essbase required Interact professionally and effectively through written and verbal communication with all partners inside and outside of Petco with emphasis on company interests Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple, varied tasks within established timeframes Work closely with utility bill payment vendor to ensure we are collecting appropriate invoice information and energy usage data; address utility billing issues, conduct periodic rate analyses and support Petco's rebate processing vendor to maximize rebate capture Analyze, audit, develop, and maintain critical department information as it relates to maintenance capital and expense budgets, utilities, schedules, project financial analysis, and project rollouts; make recommendations for action based on analysis of available data Supervisory Responsibility: May occasionally have direct report supervision responsibility Work Environment: Majority of job functions are performed while seated indoors with little or no exposure to hazards. Some travel for conferences and/or continuing education may be required. Travel is anticipated to be less than 10%. QualificationsEducation and Experience: 5 years relevant experience; Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. Exceptional analytical abilities and experience analyzing, compiling, distilling, and presenting vast amounts of data. Strong interpersonal communication skills are required due to the nature and heavy volume of interaction with internal and external contacts. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate and follow through on numerous projects simultaneously. Must have advanced Excel skills as well as extensive experience with other database systems such as Essbase. Prefer some familiarity with regulated utility rate tariffs, a general understanding of energy markets and utility rebate programs. Prefer a general understanding of mechanical systems and energy management systems in retail space.
