This position is on the Facilities Engineering and Standards Team reporting to the Director, Facilities Engineering and Standards. The team provides facility/process engineering support for all division projects from front-end and through detailed engineering as well as supporting the procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning and start-up of the designed facilities. The designed facilities include well site production facilities and water supply, storage, and transfer facilities and lines. The team also supports the broader Southwestern Energy companies in the development and implementation of engineering standards and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide facility/process engineering support of facilities in onshore shale developments.

  • Primary responsibility for engineering deliverables including process simulations, development of heat and material balances, and development of PFDs and P&IDs and ensuring successful delivery of same. Interface, direct and guide external engineering resources to achieve the same.

  • Leads Design and Risk Reviews

  • Participate in HAZOP’s, MOC reviews, and Pre-Start Up Safety Review

  • Assist in developing procedures and support for commissioning of new facilities

  • Develop and implement a continual improvement program to support the activities of the Production Team on behalf of Southwestern Energy

  • Lead the bidding and selection process of qualified vendors for equipment, fabrication, and construction activities

  • Manage multiple projects within applicable timelines, budgets, and environmental regulations

  • BS or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university

  • 8 or more years’ experience in the design, technical analysis, economic analysis, engineering, and construction of oil and gas facilities, compressor stations, gas processing and treating plants or equivalent.

  • Knowledgeable in Onshore/Shale facility operations and construction

  • Possess significant knowledge of piping, separation, compression and instrument design, analysis, facility planning, and equipment layout as it relates to industry standards

  • Possess in-depth knowledge about computer simulation software, VMGSim and/or ProMax, used to model steady-state process plant operation and individual equipment and piping systems.

  • Functional knowledge and a basic understanding of rotating equipment (pumps and compressors), metering and instrumentation. Is resourceful in mastering knowledge needed in new and unfamiliar assignments.

  • Knowledge of ASME, API, NEC, NFPA, PIP, and OSHA terms and guidelines.

  • Be able to travel to sites in support of projects as required
