Job Summary/Purpose

Entergy is transforming its Products and Services function, developing new and innovative capabilities to meet our customer’s needs. The Manager of the Demand Response Product Category is responsible for developing and managing demand response products and services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers across all of Entergy’s gas and electric service territories in Texas, Louisiana, New Orleans, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Demand Response products include smart thermostats, building energy management systems, demand response management systems (DRMS), financial call options, and other price-responsive programs, This person will be responsible for the modeling, commercial development, vendor selection, contract negotiations, contract management, marketing, and developing and managing product financials. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide mentorship to other Entergy employees and be the company’s thought-leader on all things related to Demand Response. Furthermore, this person will be able to effectively serve as an expert witness for the Company and will run external stakeholder engagement and education meetings as it pertains to Demand Response. Lastly, this person will represent Entergy’s interests in various demand-response industry forums (e.g. PLMA, EPRI, etc.) and with demand response vendors.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Develop and manage category of demand response products for residential, commercial, and industrial customers, including vendor and contract management, product financial performance, contract negotiation, and marketing.

Be a champion for Entergy’s Products and Services efforts both inside and outside of the organization, promoting collaboration and communication, managing the stakeholder engagement process with regulators, customers, other external parties, and internal groups.

Represent Entergy on various industry forums such as SEEA, SPEER, PLMA, SEPA, etc. and assist with developing and maintaining the internal POV on product costs and capabilities.

Be a thought-leader at Entergy for demand response and product management issues and assist with developing these capabilities across Entergy business units.

Interface with internal Resource Planning personnel to reflect penetration levels and scenarios around various types of Demand Response to support each utility operating company’s Integrated Resource Planning efforts.

Be able to effectively serve as the company’s expert witness in various regulatory proceedings related to demand response or other products and services.

Minimum Requirements

Education required of the position

Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred Education:

MBA or other master’s degree in business or engineering field

Experience required of the position

3+ years of managing a utility-offered product or service

3+ years managing people and budgets

5+ years working for an electric utility or working for an energy efficiency or demand response vendor

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience as an expert witness in front of a Federal, state, or municipal regulatory body.

Ability to coach and train others on product management, development, and marketing.

Awareness of existing demand response vendors, smart thermostat technologies, and DRMS/DERMS software solutions

Certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Prefer candidates with experience developing and managing demand response programs.
