Stanley Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work in our Austin, Texas office. The Mechanical Engineer should have a good understanding of mechanical systems, or the ability to development such understanding, for a variety of project types

including building mechanical systems such as: HVAC, plumbing, facilities design (boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors), piping layout, and equipment selection, District & Central heating and chilled water plants, campus-type utility distribution

systems, industrial/process facilities, power and infrastructure retrofits and upgrades, and other energy infrastructure projects. The projects are of varying sizes and locations for Higher Education, Utility, Federal, Municipal and Industrial clients.

The person in this role will have technical design responsibilities under the supervision of a senior Mechanical Engineer who will coordinate work with the design team and manage their work to produce high quality project documents. This individual will

be expected to perform design duties with minimal supervision, and have ability to communicate within a team environment.

Specific duties will include design and layout of ductwork, hydronic and air piping, DDC, computer modeling/analysis of building systems, equipment specification, and procurement; and, assist in construction administration / construction site duties as needed

and assigned.


Required education, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University.

  • 3 – 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Engineer in Training registration with the goal of obtaining Professional Engineering registration minimum.

  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Have a general understanding of engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Be able to perform and check engineering calculations for Mechanical Systems.

  • Become comfortable in sizing, selecting and specifying equipment, and coordinating information with vendors.

  • Be comfortable in performing project field site visits and back checking drawings.

  • Be able to gain familiarity with computer software as needed.

  • Autodesk Revit experience preferred, but not required.

  • U.S. citizen.
