The person hired for the position of Sales Representative is responsible for Electrical Markets Division sales along the US and Mexico Border from El Paso, TX to Nogales, AZ and for Chihuahua and portions of Sonora Mexico. Primary location being El Paso, TX.
Primary job responsibilities include meeting EMD – OEM top line sales objectives for the defined geographic area. Further, Sales Representative has responsibility to support and manage the sales process for original electrical equipment manufacturers and after-market customers serving the electrical, electronic, harness assembly markets, along with the distributors and value added converters who service these markets. Desired attributes include; Bilingual (fluent in English and Spanish), knowledge of 3M Electrical Markets Division, along with specific industry, materials and technical expertise in working with electrical equipment OEM’s. Technical sales expertise in selling to OEM's of electric motors, electrical transformers, electrical industrial apparatus and harness assembly accounts is desired.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Works directly with end user customers and distributors to service current business. Manages key accounts to position 3M for additional growth. Develops new opportunities and leads the selling effort to win new business. Understands the customer’s key design criteria, problem, or requirement for an electrical insulating solution.
Applies business unit marketing policies, procedures and plans. Utilizes selling process to achieve sales results.
Plans and manages time and resources for effective coverage of territory, including the use of CRM tools.
Exhibits leadership with accounts, prospects and peers. Describes the customer’s need in terms of their product, their manufacturing requirements, and additional products to be used, and applicable industry standards. Work with 3M Lab, Mfg, Marketing, and Sales team members to develop and refine design proposals based upon 3M products and technologies to solve customer problems and increase 3M’s share of wallet.
Participate in cross functional teams to effectively manage opportunity pipeline and address customer needs.
Provide market intelligence and competitive information for core and adjacent markets served.
Provide product training to Distributor personnel as needed to build knowledge, 3M mindshare and collaborative growth plans.
Support new product launches, VOC requests for new product development and insight into new product ideas.
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited University
Minimum of five (5) combined years of specification sales experience in Industrial and/or Electrical markets
Current and valid driver's license is required, this position will be provided a company fleet vehicle
Ten (10) years specification selling in an industrial (B to B) business is preferred
Ten (10) years specification selling with industrial distributors as a channel partner
Five (5) years specification selling experience in electrical/ electronic OEM materials
Engineering Degree preferred
Bilingual – English and Spanish
Location: El Paso, TX
Sales Territory: UX and Mexico border; El Paso, TX to Nogales, AZ and Chihuahua and Sonora states, Mexico
Travel: Territory travel will include 30% overnights
Relocation: Is not authorized
