BAE Systems Supply Chain Planner Principle in Austin, Texas

Job Description

Leads and acts as the focal point for all supply chainactivities for one or more programs including potential site transitions. Supports the development and implementation of short and long term supply chain strategies that address capacity issues, production location decisions and material planning challenges in support of business growth. Facilitates business execution to ensure supply plan aligns with demand plan. Monitors key performance indicators, analyzes performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives. Optimizes the interface between supply chain management and manufacturing systems. Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of materials is timed to meet requirements. Provides risk management and mitigation on all identified delivery risks by working with the supply chain management team, master scheduler, and the factory management team. Participates with business area planning and manufacturing in the generation of resource and manpower forecasts. Supports the shipment of product to maintain contract and internal delivery commitments. As a principle planner, this position requires that the individual possess a strong understanding of the procurement and planning processes and is capable of troubleshooting process failures to ensure program success. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes team responsibilities to accomplish objectives. Trains and mentors other supply chain team members. Drives continuous improvement philosophy and approach to problem solving and process improvement.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Bachelor s degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience. ERP systems experience (Oracle, SAP, other).

Ability to adjust to customer requirements with little notice.

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.

Possess strong understanding of procurement, planning, and project management processes.

Ability to create presentation materials and give presentations to leadership teams.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Capable of building relationships and communicating effectively at all levels of the organization.

Proven ability to train and mentor team members.

Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
