Jacob’s Energy and Power Solutions Group in Fort Worth has a rewarding opportunity for a Graduate Engineer focusing on design and development of systems used to monitor and control various process and building automation systems. Projects include Central Energy Plants that generate chilled water, steam/hot water for heating and electric power. Clients include Universities, District Energy Companies, airports, and other industrial facilities.
Assist in the development of construction drawings and specifications under the supervision of a senior engineer for process instruments, control valves, local programmable logic controllers (PLC), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and plant distributed control systems (DCS) to be utilized for bidding and construction by plant integrationcontractors.
Deliverables commonly include detailed System Network diagrams, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, Input/Output lists, Process Instrument Lists and Equipment or Control Valve Data Sheets.
Review and approval of detailed hardware and software design submittals prepared by integration contractors.
Periodic travel to observe and document existing plant systems or to provide field support during plant start-up, commissioning and performance testing activities.
Communication and coordination with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers and other outside parties.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.
Minimum 0-1 years' related experience; this is a graduate level opportunity
Must have strong analytical, conceptual, technical writing and presentation skills.
Strong desire to learn and attention to detail
Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management required
Ability to work and thrive in a team environment required
Strong problem solving skills required
Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision required
Working knowledge of Word and Excel required
US Citizen preferred
Previous experience with instrumentation and control systems is preferred
One summer of previous engineering related project intern experience is preferred
Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred
