BAE Systems Product Support Specialist/Sustainment Lead in Fort Worth, Texas

Job Description

Seeking a driven, results-oriented Product Support Sustainment Lead for an Electronic Warfare (EW) Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contract. The contract is managed in New Hampshire. The activity where the candidate will fill this role is located in Fort Worth, Texas. Candidate serves as primary interface to the Project Technical Lead/Project Engineering Manager (PTL/PEM) for PBL, reporting back to the F-35 program management team in NH. Candidate will also support the PM, Chief Engineer, and Chief Logistician for all PBL engineering activity. Candidate will report directly to the Defense Logistics Engineering Function and may also support other Functional areas. Candidate must demonstrate strong ability to establish a close working relationship with the internal and external customer leadership and project teams.

Candidate will perform the following engineering activities in support of the PBL program:

Directly support the PTL/PEM for all PBL engineering activities and initiatives, shaping, influencing, and improving Sustainment processes, guiding F-35 PBL program support disciplines to ensure PBL Performance Metrics are met or exceeded.

Work with PMO, the PTL/PEM and Chief Eng to resolve/clarify/revise PBL program requirements.

Serve as primary Interface to Government User Community

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key lead personnel in military services

Develop and maintain maintenance contacts at squadrons/bases

Engage in a number of customer and government combined sustainment forums

Lead Military Site Support Visits

Coordination of personnel and assets to support visit

Development of site visit plan to maximize benefit to company and services

Focus on supporting and training the Maintainer community

Initiate and manage logistics investigations and assessments to ensure continued operation and maintenance of the F-35 Electronic Warfare/Countermeasures (EW/CM) system

Coordinate Implementation of Sustainment Improvements with Customer

Coordinate incorporation of maintenance documentation Updates

Coordinate incorporation of PHM/BIT Improvements

Coordinate incorporation of configuration updates

Oversee/Provide critical review to Sustainment Demands and Hardware Availability Data

Lead Internal Team Meetings to discuss Sustainment HW needs and availability

Review Customer reports & provide reporting to internal company management

Provide early detection of rising issues in the Field

Monitor Reliability Science prognostics health management (PHM)/BIT activities, and contribute to timely incorporation of improvements and modifications

Review and analyze changes to the configuration and the Technical Data Package (TDP). Assess the impact to Logistics Engineering/Provisioning, Sparing, Training and other Logistics documentation and as well, PBL/Sustainment cost/schedule.

Actively support and report on risk and opportunity management.

Work with Reliability Sciences personnel to track, review and monitor sustainment metrics, such as component failure rates, and Re-Test OK (RTOK) rates.

Work with Asset Managers to improve supply response time (fill-rate and replenishment time).

Work with Reliability Sciences to monitor Root Cause and Corrective Action (RC/CA) investigations, and ensure resolutions are properly implemented, for increased reliability, affordability, and a reduced logistics footprint.

Support Business Case Analyses as related to PBL performance metrics.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Understand the principles of PBL

Ability to consume and organize data to provide meaningful assessment

Motivated to provide best value to the warfighter

Fluent in Sustainment Engineering and supply chain management principles

Experienced in team building and IPT management

Understanding of military logistics sustainment practices

Understanding of Technical Data, including drawings, specifications, and parts lists for military avionics systems

Understanding of FRACAS, reliability, RC/CA

Direct, proven customer technical support experience

Skilled written and oral communications skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Demonstrated problem solving abilities

Understanding of secondary metrics / health indicators and their impact on Supply Response Time

Understanding of customer ConOps / operating environment

Must a self-starter, resourceful, and be able to work independently.

Demonstrated experience with customer interface and reporting to management

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software suite.

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Skills and Education

Degree in a technical discipline

Military Sustainment leadership experience

F-35 supply chain management experience

In-depth understanding of Aircraft maintenance/retrofit programs

Software Sustainment experience

Demonstrated Senior and Executive-level presentation experience

Experience managing and executing Training activities

Working familiarity with military technical manuals

Proven process-improvement skills

Experience managing repair asset and spares tracking on a DoD program

Active Secret clearance
