Role Summary:

The Junior Counsel - Compliance will be a key member of the legal and compliance team for BHGE and will provide a full range of legal and compliance support to the business.

Essential Responsibilities:

In the role of Junior Counsel - Compliance, you will:

Administer the BHGE Antiboycott Compliance Program, under the direction of senior counsel, including:

  • Reviewingtransactional and ancillary documents of proposed commercial agreements.

  • Issuespotting and resolving problematic boycott language.

  • Providingsound legal advice to businesses overseas concerning resolution and negotiationof problematic clauses.

  • Managingthe BHGE Antiboycott Portal and restricted Antiboycott SharePoint site.

  • Stayingabreast of regulations and trends regarding US Antiboycott laws (IRC §999/EAR§760).

  • Trackinginternal Antiboycott request metrics using established tools.

  • Compilingand sending quarterly reports to the U.S. Department of Commerce - Office ofAntiboycott Compliance.

  • Escalatingurgent and/or complex antiboycott issues to International Trade Counsel.

  • Consultingwith outside counsel, as necessary.

  • Assistingwith the development of antiboycott training programs and facilitation of such training.

  • Performingother duties as necessary.

Administer the annual Code of Conduct Questionnaire, including:

  • Organizingand implementing the Company’s Code of Conduct Questionnaire.

  • TrackingCode of Conduct Questionnaire completion progress using internal Code ofConduct Questionnaire database.

  • Reviewingaffirmative responses for potential violations of Company policy, laws, orregulations.

  • Adjudicatingurgent compliance matters to appropriate personnel for review.

  • Performingother duties as necessary.

Administer the BHGE anti-bribery training program, under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, including:

  • Developingthe anti-bribery online module and instructor-led module.

  • Coordinatingtraining delivery schedule with Human Resources.

  • Communicatingtraining requirements to leaders and target audience.

  • Trackingcompletion progress using internal mandatory training dashboard.

  • ProvidingLegal approval for removal and/or reassignment of training requirements.

  • Performingother duties as necessary.


  • JurisDoctor (or global equivalent) from an accredited college or university

  • Activebar membership

  • 1to 5 years experience working in a legal/compliance department

  • Experiencefacilitating training across multiple business units

  • Excellentwritten and oral communication skills
