Primary Focus:

Responsible for accurately and timely accounting & reporting of the Capital Assets transactions. Majority of assets are FERC regulated oil and gas pipeline companies.

Accountabilities:

  • Independently analyze more complex project accounting & fixed asset accounting transactions in support of capital accounting (e.g., burdening, some material/cost transfers)

  • Review internal and external reporting deliverables to meet fixed assets accounting, FERC regulation, income tax and property tax business requirements and respond to ad hoc fixed assets information requests. Will be necessary to leverage Oracle knowledge and project management skills.

  • Perform cash calls for joint venture projects

  • Conduct monthly PA/FA close activities (e.g., clearing costing exceptions, closing PA sub-ledger, etc.)

  • Collaborate with various stakeholder groups to support preparation of reports & analysis, process enhancements etc

  • Review the monthly PPE Roll Forward (CapEx section).

  • Manage Audit responses to Internal Audit, PWC, and Sox.

  • Make sound accounting decision based on enterprise’s Capital Policy & GAAP; Provide technical accounting guidance to staff

  • Streamline & maintain key internal controls resulting in favorable compliance

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and standardization

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • 4+ years of progressively responsible experience.

  • Able to work well under tight deadlines for project completion.

  • Solid technical GAAP accounting knowledge & in-depth understanding of Sox compliance control requirements

  • CPA preferred

  • Must be able to set priorities.

  • Outstanding analytical, communication and verbal skills.
