Position Description

  • Responsible for operational accounting for the Transmix facilities as well as other assets under the Products Pipelines business segment

  • The Accounting Manager will supervise six accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner

  • Develops a thorough knowledge of current business operations

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls

  • Ensures financial processes are maintained in accordance with corporate policies and procedures

  • Approve all payments for inventory purchases – this involves review of the contract terms account coding and purchase price formulas

  • Ensure the appropriate State/Federal taxes are captured for purchase and sales transactions

  • Review and reconcile Merlin invoice reports to the general ledger

  • Monitor and approve all credit invoices

  • Review and analysis of monthly close for multiple assets including month-end journal entries, accruals, monthly billing and AR collection

  • Analysis and review of balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Understands both internal and external customer requirements and provides quality customer service

  • Cultivate strong working relationships

  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff resources

  • Extensive use of Microsoft excel formulas

Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with an emphasis in Accounting preferred

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant accounting experience in the energy industry. Supervisory experience preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, and Word
