We are looking for a Practice Manager to join our team and help create, execute and deliver on our mission to improve access to care. Practice Managers serve as a strategic leader managing day-to-day operations of the practice in support of patient safety and care, efficiency, patient and staff satisfaction.
Practice Managers will provide guidance to members of the team, and work in partnership with medical providers. This Practice Manager will work in the Houston, TX market targeting the Greater Sharpstown area.
This is a unique opportunity to support the development, start-up and opening of the new clinic supported by the UnitedHealthcare brand. Primary Responsibilities: Manage daily clinic operations, including staff and workflows, in compliance with internal and external regulations Oversee the day to day clinic operations including but not limited to: opening and closing of clinic, call handling, processing patients through their appointments, staff schedules, payroll, inventory and cash collections.
Maintains facility and all office and clinical equipment Ensure staff schedules are appropriately matched to patient care schedules—balancing both clinical needs and fiscal responsibility (i.e.
match staffing volume and hours while minimizing overtime) Demonstrate a thoroughly understanding of clinic staff responsibilities, including front and back office work, in order to support patient care and streamline workflows Coach, mentor, and support clinic staff. Engage in constructive problem solving and issue resolution for all members of the clinical team including providers and patients. Foster an environment of continuous quality improvement with feedback and collaboration from staff and medical providers to improve the efficiency, quality, safety of the clinic, and reduction of liability Facilitate feedback to Corporate Operations Team on performance and practices of providers and staff, including clinical competencies and trainings for all applicable team members Oversee quality assurance and improvement process (i.e.
QC documentation for lab equipment, CLIA waived tests, and vaccines) Oversee the ordering of office and medical supplies in an organized manner, including inventory management and tracking in order to stay within practice budget Reinforce and educates all staff on the UnitedHealthcare Policies and Procedures related to Scope of Services and clinical workflows Assist in medical provider retention, recruitment, and satisfaction On-boards and trains new clinical staff and providers Works with marketing to support community based events such as health fairs Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions. Attends CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, and OIG training programs as required Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5+ years of clinical leadership experience managing clinical and non-clinical staff in a clinic and/ or practice setting 5+ years of experience managing day to day business operations in a clinic and/or practice setting Previous administrative experience in a clinic and/or practice setting Experience utilizing an Electronic Medical Record, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook, as well as the ability to troubleshoot in these applications Attention to detail, strong leadership and ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with diverse patients and across members of the clinical team Alignment with UnitedHealthcare’s mission to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working as a Registered Nurse Experience providing direct patient care including in office procedures such as performing vitals, immunizations, or phlebotomy Bilingual in English and Spanish Entrepreneurial spirit and experience starting a clinical practice Willingness to encourage iterating on business operations for continuous improvement Experience working in a large primary care group practice Familiarity with Vaccines for Children program Comfort using and troubleshooting technology Master’s Degree in clinical, healthcare, or business administration OR Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) 8 + years of experience in clinical practices Experience working with the Medicaid population Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
