Regional Sales Manager

Our client is looking for a Regional Sales Manager who will report to the Regional Director for the Americas, this Regional Sales Manager will have the overall responsibility for sales and marketing activities within his/her assigned region/territory within North America. This comprises:

  • Undertaking sales and marketing activities necessary to facilitate growth and achieve the order intake targets for the assigned territory

  • Supervision and development of the direct & in-direct sales team and distributors in the assigned territory

  • Implement the company sales and marketing strategies and customize them to the particular market requirements

  • Undertake sales and marketing activities to sustain and develop sales in the assigned territory

  • Negotiate and undertake the sales of products and services across the companies’ product lines

  • Develop a good balance between system, services and instrument sales in the assigned territory

  • Undertake client presentations to influence and obtain early involvement in the needs specification of projects

  • Cooperate with the regional sales and marketing; facilitate and promote sales from companies across other regions into the region of responsibility and vice-versa

  • Provide strong interface to the project delivery group to ensure a smooth handover of projects

  • Leadership and coaching of indirect channels

  • Where required, ensure the efficient operation of the regional offices of responsibility

  • Implement a strong customer focus in the region

  • Oversee the project delivery process through close interaction and communication with clients (internal and external)

  • Provide market feedback to the organization (technology / sales / project delivery)

  • Active participation in regular Sales and Marketing Meetings

  • Execute all reasonable and justified instructions provided by company management to the requisite high-standard of performance.

  • Reporting:

  • Financial reporting in relation to order intake and forecast on a monthly basis to regional sales and marketing

  • Report on Strategic Developments in the assigned territory

  • Developing the annual order intake forecasts and marketing requirements

  • Forecasting in collaboration with the regional sales and marketing, by providing competitive field-intelligence on a regular basis

  • A minimum of 5 years of sales and/or servicing experience, in high-value, capital products in B2B sales; preferably in plant-process control/optimization and/or plant-asset control, machinery condition/performance monitoring and/or asset-optimization applications and / or machinery-asset reliability services domain.

  • Relevant Engineering degree in electronics, instrumentation or mechanical

  • High-energy, self-driven, result oriented

  • Strong commercial understanding and negotiation skills

  • Thorough understanding of competitive land-scape of our products and services

  • Knowledge and familiarity with financial and contractual terms & practices

  • A proven track record in developing and growing sales with specific ability to locate and engage new customers

  • Strategic focus and ability to prioritise activities in line with the global company strategy

  • Fundamental knowledge of rotating machinery or the core market segments of HPI, Hydro Power, Thermal Power and other industrial segments

  • Some knowledge/experience in vibration-measurement fundamentals, knowledge of machinery vibration analysis is an advantage

  • Strong customer focus and ability to make win-win propositions for customers

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build long-term relationships with clients and ability to work across different cultural environments, in a matrix organization structure

  • Knowledge and experience in the respective geographical region, with lots of established contacts in the territory assigned

  • Fluent communications skills (verbal and written) in English and the local language(s)

  • Ability to lead and manage project/task specific teams by influence

  • Willingness to travel more than 60% of your work-time.

  • Above average skills in using Microsoft Office tools/programs

  • Energizing presentation skills with demonstrated examples of making and customizing high-impact, value-story based presentations.
