The Position : We’re looking for a Design Assurance Engineer that will support the Design Assurance group in the ensuring and validating that products from the engineering department perform as intended, are of high quality, and are configuration controlled. This position resides in the Design Assurance group within the engineering department. This position reports to the Design Assurance group lead who reports to the Engineering Manager.
Validate that engineering products are of desired quality prior to deployment, ensuring correct functionality, performance evaluation, regression testing, and stability.
Design and development of test plans and detailed test cases based on requirements and defects.
Execute test plans on prototype and/or production systems.
Document test results, tracking any outstanding issues to closure.
Assist engineers in data collection, investigation and resolution of problems.
Configure systems for test.
Validate that products for test and/or release are from the correct controlled baseline.
Assist with data collection and analysis for categorization and trending.
Perform configuration management activities engineering documents
Perform tasks related to the product change order (PCO) process such as, ensuring RFCs and PCOs are routed and processed appropriately, assisting as necessary in data collection for new RFCs, and data collection for types and sources of RFCs.
Prepare for and support Change Review Board (CRB) meetings.
Ability to travel (domestically and internationally) up to 30% of the time.

Bachelor or Associate of Science degree in related field or a minimum 5 years relevant experience.
Working knowledge & experience testing complex hardware/software systems in a structured environment.
Working knowledge & experience in testing User Interface software in a Microsoft Windows environment is desirable.
Working knowledge & experience in configuration management.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.
Understanding of requirement and test case management
Familiarity with version management tools such as Subversion, CVS or MS SourceSafe.
Familiarity with defect and quality tools, such as ClearQuest and Test Director or other ALM tools.
Working knowledge of Test Automation tools
Familiarity with MRP tools such as QAD or SAP.
Familiarity with MS Word, Excel and Visio.
Ability to work with limited supervision or as part of a team.
Must have good communication skills required to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Hard-working, goal oriented and with a high level of energy and enthusiasm; able to operate efficiently, effectively and professionally within a fast paced, dynamic and results driven business environment.
A flexible and adaptable attitude, willing to accept and drive change, and able to work comfortably with ambiguity, frequent change and unpredictability.
