THE SALARY FOR THIS POSITION: $19.03-$22.19 PER HOUR.
The primary purpose of this position is to perform launch, recovery duties on T-1, T-6, and T-38 aircraft. Perform aircraft worker duties such as removing, inspecting, cleaning, repairing, adjusting, and installing components and parts, and to assist higher-grade aircraft mechanics in more complex tasks.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

JOB ELEMENTS:Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of assigned powered and non-powered aerospace ground equipment. Possess the skill and ability to properly and safely service aircraft. Knowledge and ability to correctly configure aircraft prior to launch and upon recovery of aircraft. Skill and ability to provide proper assistance to aircrews. Knowledge and the ability to accomplish established Joint Oil Analysis Program procedures. Experience performing as an aircraft attendant or aircraft worker on T-1, T-6, T-38, or other aircraft is highly desirable. 2. Knowledge of the T-1, T-6, , T-38, or other aircraft, operation, installation, and adjustment of a variety of major aircraft systems, subsystems, and assemblies such as fuel and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, instrumentation systems, engines, landing gear assemblies, airframe, and control surfaces. Skill in selection and using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, specialized tools, and test equipment. Ability to remove and install a variety of aircraft parts, accessories, components in proper sequence. Knowledge of aircraft functional test procedures including engine run-up test and monitoring. 3. Knowledge of supply procedures, publications order system, and documentation. 4. Ability to maintain and perform in a fast paced high tempo environment under noisy and sometime very warm conditions. Possess aircraft ground handling knowledge to include proper-tower radio operations and procedures; towing characteristics of assigned aircraft including landing gear, safety pins, wing locks, braking systems and tyingdown and grounding methods, procedures for safely refueling and de-fueling aircraft and the ability to safely refuel and de-fuel aircraft. 5. Knowledge of safety requirement as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, tech orders and other guidelines. Knowledge of tool, equipment, materials accounting, and security procedures. 6. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, make legible entries on maintenance related documents, use computer terminals to maintain records and document actions, and effectively communicate orally and legibly in writing, and to work and interact with others in a business-like manner.
Physical Effort: Heavy lifting and heavy carrying 50 pounds over waist. Straight pulling are three hours per day; Hours of pulling hand over hand are 1 hr. per day; Two hours of pushing per day. Reaching above shoulder. Use fingers and both hands required. Six hours walking per day. Six hours standing per day; One hour crawling per day; one hour kneeling per day. Three hours repeated bending per day. Three hours of climbing, leg only, per day. Climbing, use of arms and legs. Both legs required. Operation of crane, truck, tractor, forklift or motor vehicle. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. Near vision correctable to 13 inches to 26 inches to Jaeger 1 to 4. Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/50 and to 20/100 in the other. Specific vision requirement: Both eyes required. Depth perception. Ability to distinguish basic colors. Ability to distinguish shades of colors. Hearing without aid. Emotional and mental stability.
