This position is for a consultant in the Risk Management, Compliance and Security (RMCS) service group within Navigant’s Energy Practice. The position will be part of a team that assists leading energy-related organizations (including utilities, energy companies, and government organizations) develop programs to reduce both reliability and compliance risk, ensure compliance with mandatory regulations, and develop emergency management programs.

The RMCS consultant will be a key team member for public and private sector projects and will conduct detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on compliance and emergency management activities; assist with the development of internal controls targeted to reduce client risk, perform compliance gap assessments; conduct hazard vulnerability assessments, data collection and spreadsheet creation and management; prepare reports, presentations and other documents for clients.

The Risk Management, Compliance and Security consultant Specific capabilities and/or experience may include:

  • Demonstrated familiarity with emergency management, disaster recovery and resilience, disaster relief, and/or critical infrastructure protection

  • Experience with NIST and familiarity with NIST products and guides

  • Interagency experience desired

  • Familiarity with Critical Infrastructure Protection Emergency Management best practices

  • Formal Emergency Management Training and Certifications;

  • Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations

  • Superb writing skills – be able to write reports; write bids to RFPs; develop signature ready written products

  • Self-starter who is a team player – who will work to ensure the core values of respect and collaboration are achieved;

  • Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Emergency Management or related discipline(s);

  • Experience developing and implementing risk management and hazard mitigation – 3-5 years desired;

  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

  • Highly developed organizational and management skills;

  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities without diminished effectiveness; and

  • Ability to travel and to work overtime hours as needed.

  • Able to travel via airplane with minimal assistance to client sites across the US and potentially internationally

  • Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day

  • Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
