Responsibilities and Duties Operates a spray painter to apply industrial paint finishes on metal products Ability to use high air-pressure sandblasting equipment, chemical application, chipping hammer, power tools and/or abrasives to prepare surface for painting Knowledge of application techniques Ability to follow work orders or receive instructions from Dept. Lead Respiratory protection is common and required in many applications Works under immediate supervision Reports any line problems or issues to supervisor for assistance Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner Reports potential safety hazards to supervisor Must adhere to company policies and procedures ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Minimum 6 months work related experience The ability to read and write English Knowledge of preparation and use of paints, epoxies, resins, and other coatings associated with industrial painting Ability to apply paint and other coatings by hand or spray Ability to read and interpret customer paint specifications Knowledge of conventional, airless, and plural component spray equipment and its use Knowledge of non- destructive coating inspection tools such as wet mil gauges and magnetic pull-off gauge Knowledge of high pressure sandblasting and pressure washing equipment and its use Safety practices of the work, hand tools and air operated equipment used in the work. Thorough understanding of all company safety and environmental practices Strong quality focus Strong team player Be reliable, dependable, and able to work overtime when required Ability to use hand tools, power tools, machines, equipment Must be familiar with Safety and OSHA requirements
