Symantec Senior License Compliance Analyst in Plano, Texas
Overview of Symantec License Compliance:
The License Compliance team ensures that Symantec customers comply with the terms of their license agreements. The team engages with customers through verifications and audits to assess customer usage of Symantec products.
Overview of the Role:
The Senior License Compliance Analyst will be responsible for executing license compliance engagements and supporting engagements led by other Compliance Managers. The Senior License Compliance Analyst will be a member of the Global License Compliance team that is part of Symantec’s Legal organization.
Develop an understanding of Symantec products and licensing terms, market and business environment.
Read, understand, and interpret customer contractual agreements.
Manage and support the execution of license compliance engagements from notification through negotiation with customers. This includes working with many internal organizations, external service providers and customers.
Analyze customer deployment data and reconcile actual usage to contract terms / entitlement.
Partner with Sales teams to negotiate and settle findings with the customer.
Participate in projects to document and improve review processes and licensing knowledge.
Partner with analysts in Shared Resource Center to extract and review internal data used to support license compliance engagements.
Become proficient in Salesforce to make updates for engagement tracking and forecasting.
Qualifications and experience:
B.A. or B.S., preferred in Finance, Law, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems.
Prior experience in the field of license compliance or a related field such as Sales, Operations, Finance, etc.
Strong organizational and project management techniques.
Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Ability to complete assignments efficiently with a high degree of accountability.
Strong communication capabilities.
Experience of negotiating financial settlements with customers.
Willingness to learn. Passionate about technology and people.
Consistently demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to adapt to changing environments.
Ability to operate in a collaborative manner within a complex, multi-cultural global organization.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize requests from multiple Managers within team.
Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment and excited about helping to define policies and procedures of a new License Compliance program
Unquestionable ethics, integrity and business judgment.
Some travel required.
