Reports to and assists the Regional HSE Manager and HSE Supervisors in providing HSE knowledge, expertise and
guidance to local and regional operations. Conducts various HSE activities including, but not limited to; Weekly
job-site visitations, audits and inspections, loss incident investigations, emergency response, performing
environmental assessments and evaluations of facilities and job locations, Workers' Compensation management,
assisting operations with implementation and compliance of existing HSE programs. The HSE Coordinator may
also perform other duties as assigned by HSE Managers/Supervisors.
Pass the company's drug screen.
Pass the company's "Physical Functions Assessment" (if applicable).
Motor vehicle record qualifies individual to be an approved company driver.
Acceptable criminal history.
Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that they are able to understand verbal and written
instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English; and the ability to use simple
mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals (addition, subtraction, division and
multiplication) to make job related calculations.
Adequate knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety regulations and their impact on operations.
Ability to research and locate information when necessary.
Knowledge of the safe work behaviors and interpretation of HSE data.
Ability to independently draw conclusions and recommended courses of actions.
Basic computer skills including a working knowledge of MS Office applications.
Well organized and effective at time management.
Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
Ability to efficiently participate in on-site inspections; requires moderate walking and driving.
Much local traveling required (minimum 2 to 3 trips per week to local job-sites- usually within 2-5 hours
traveling time) and moderate travel to each of the designated facilities within the region.
Must be available as needed, 24/7/365 to respond to HSE incident events
Bachelor's Degree in a safety related field from an accredited university preferred or 3-years of experience
in the oil and gas industry
- Requires High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
Conducts routine HSE Site Inspections
Reports and communicates inspection and field audit results with applicable Field Supervisors, HSE Staff and
local Operation's Management
Develops corrective actions and ensures compliance (follow-up).
Assists Operations with accident investigations and reviews loss incident reports, including determining causal
factors and root cause analyses in a timely fashion and submits to management.
- Documents and communicates applicable corrective actions or action plans with HSE and Operation's
Management and ensures completion by the appropriate parties.
- Conducts initial response and coordination to loss incident events with management and regulatory agencies as
- Ability to perform Environmental and Facility assessments and corrective actions with environmental and
facility OSHA concerns.
Ensures compliance with all current company environmental policies and procedures.
Ensures management of employee injuries, vehicle accidents, near misses, and accidental releases/spills
Coordinates and communicates with local doctors and occupational health clinics to manage employee injuries
Updates Regional HSE Manager at least bi-weekly on the progress of open claims.
Ensures implementation, communication, and adherence of all current HSE policies and procedures.
Assists Regional HSE Manager and HSE Supervisors with field work to update JSA's, SPCCs, and HSE
- Coordinates with and assists the Regional Trainer(s) and local Operations to ensure that all employees at the
primary facilities receive HSE & Driver Training upon hire and annually thereafter.
- Facilitates and coordinates, in conjunction with Operations, daily, weekly, & monthly safety meetings and
operational trainings at designated primary facilities.
- Must be able to develop solid relationships and communicate with local management, i.e. providing candid,
constructive input to management regarding HSE activities.
Must model exemplary safety behavior and lead by personal example.
Must insist on adherence to administrative and operational policies and procedures.
Requires maintained eligibility to drive company vehicles.
Possesses an understanding of district goals and works towards meeting those objectives.
Performs work on his/her own as well as providing assistance to others as directed.
Must participate in all company provided training as required by job position.
Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
