Design of processes or unit operations for chemical or refinery systems. Plans and conducts research and process development work in chemical, gas, and petroleum areas. Supports ongoing projects through pilot plant operations, data compilation, mass and energy balances, operator training, procedure development, laboratory upkeep, maintenance, and safety review/document preparation. Work with vendors, clients, and operators to set up equipment and construct systems for new processes. Promotes and secures new work as trained through mentorship and internal business development training. May operate pilot plants as a lead operator during processing campaigns. Creates process simulations using commercial software in addition to input/output, process flow and process instrumentation diagrams. Provides technical supervision to other engineers, technicians, analyst, and pilot plant operators. We desire a person with dedication to their chemical engineering profession and the desire to learn and build business in chemical engineering, while also being self-motivated and capable of problem solving independently.Requires a BS degree in Chemical Engineering with 0 2 years experience. Must have at least a 3.2 GPA. Direct experience with chemical engineering process development work (developing Excel spreadsheets for chemical engineering calculations and data compilation) to include designing and conducting lab scale to pilot scale experiments. Must have high attention to detail in calculations, design, and operations. Must be able to develop process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, I/O diagrams, and process control strategies. Must be able to communicate clearly and interface with clients or potential clients as needed in the course of the project or proposal process. Must be able to multitask - engineer will be expected to work on multiple projects while also contributing to business development activities. Shift work required. A valid/clear driver's license is required. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
